Updated 12 October 2026. The Brisbane Multicultural Festival of Victory article originally described a Dussehra and Deepavali event at Rocklea Showgrounds on 5 October 2025. I could not verify a 2026 edition using that same Festival of Victory name. The current Rocklea Showgrounds calendar does list a separate Hindu Council of Australia Diwali event for 31 October 2026. This is a different listing and should not be treated as a confirmed repeat of the 2025 Dussehra programme.
Is the Festival of Victory at Rocklea happening in 2026?
The Rocklea Showgrounds event calendar currently does not show a 2026 “Festival of Victory” or Dussehra event under the same name. The previous article’s date, programme, ticket details and schedule should therefore be treated as historical. This does not prove that no Dussehra celebrations will take place elsewhere in Brisbane; it means a repeat at Rocklea has not been confirmed by the venue listing reviewed for this update.

What about Dussehra in Brisbane?
Dussehra / Vijayadashami falls on Tuesday 20 October 2026 according to the current Hindu calendar. A community may observe it with puja, Ramlila or other cultural events, but every event has its own organiser, venue and schedule. Do not assume that the former Rocklea programme, including any Ravana finale, Ramlila or stall arrangement, is taking place again.
How to check for a Dussehra or Diwali event
- Review the Rocklea Showgrounds calendar and the Hindu Council of Australia’s current announcements.
- Check the exact event title, date, address, opening time and ticket information.
- Confirm whether fireworks or any symbolic finale is actually listed in the event programme.
- Check the organiser’s rules for parking, accessibility, food, children and prohibited items.
Planning a family visit to Rocklea
Rocklea Showgrounds is at the corner of Ipswich Road and Goburra Street in Rocklea. Verify public transport, traffic and parking arrangements closer to the date; do not assume the same entry gates or facilities as the 2025 festival. For an outdoor event, check weather conditions and bring water, sun protection and comfortable footwear.
