Updated 13 October 2026. Dussehra (Vijayadashami) is listed for Tuesday, 20 October 2026 in the Dubai panchang. Use this guide for the Dubai-specific religious timing and to check which public events are actually listed. A festival date is not proof that every temple or emirate has announced a Ramlila or Ravana Dahan programme.

Dubai: checking current public events
The confirmed public listing most relevant before Dussehra is Navratri Utsav 2026 at Zabeel Park Amphitheatre on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October. The ticket page lists doors opening at 7:00 p.m., the show starting at 7:30 p.m., and tickets from AED 20. The event ticket does not include park entry; outside food and beverages are not allowed, and tickets are listed as non-refundable. Check the live ticket page for remaining availability and any changes.

Important: this is a Navratri event on 16–17 October, not evidence of a Dussehra-day Ramlila or Ravana Dahan on 20 October.
Abu Dhabi: temple and community programme status
BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi publishes its visitor and campus information at Plot P6, Al Taf Road (E16), Abu Mureikhah, Abu Dhabi, and states that visitor registration is mandatory. The main official page reviewed for this update did not confirm a specific public Dussehra event timetable for 2026. Check the temple’s latest event announcements and registration requirements before planning a visit.

Sharjah and the Northern Emirates
The Sharjah Panchang lists Navratri beginning on 11 October and Vijayadashami on 20 October 2026. I could not verify a single official emirate-wide Dussehra event schedule for Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. Community organisations may publish separate puja, Garba, Ramlila or cultural programmes; confirm each one with its named organiser rather than relying on last year’s venues or timings.

What to expect at a Dussehra celebration
Depending on the organiser, a celebration may include puja, devotional singing, Ramlila, cultural performances or a symbolic Ravana Dahan. Not every venue hosts an effigy burning; fire displays and fireworks depend on the actual programme, venue permissions and safety arrangements. Do not assume a public event includes them unless the organiser explicitly says so.
Before visiting a temple or event
- Check the date, address, opening hours and whether registration or a ticket is required.
- Confirm the local puja timing with the temple; do not use Dubai’s muhurat for another emirate without checking.
- Ask whether there is a public Ramlila or Ravana-effigy programme, rather than assuming one will occur.
- Review parking, dress, photography, age and accessibility rules.
