Updated 12 October 2026. Navratri is underway in the UAE, and family plans are easier when event details and child-entry rules are confirmed in advance. The Dubai Panchang lists the nine Navratri days from 11–19 October, with Vijayadashami / Dussehra on 20 October. Not every Garba or Dandiya event is specifically designed for children, so check the organiser’s current listing before booking.

Current public event listing in Dubai
Navratri Utsav 2026 is listed by Visit Dubai for Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October at Zabeel Park Amphitheatre. The listing shows a 7:00 pm start and ticket prices from AED 20 to AED 100. The page does not confirm every child-specific facility or age rule, so confirm age suitability, seating, toilets, stroller access and any ticket requirements directly before attending.

Questions to ask before booking with children
- Is the event open to children, and do all ages need tickets?
- Is there seating away from the dance floor, a quiet area or a family area?
- Are strollers permitted, and are there accessible toilets and step-free routes?
- What rules apply to Dandiya sticks, bags, outside food, water bottles and photography?
- Is there an official weather plan for an outdoor event and a contact number for last-minute changes?
Child safety during Garba and Dandiya
Choose a position at the edge of the dance circle if younger children are joining. Keep children close in crowds, agree on a meeting point, and show them a venue staff member they can approach if separated. Use age-appropriate Dandiya sticks only where the organiser permits them, and encourage children to keep enough space around other dancers.
For outdoor events, consider UAE October conditions. Dubai’s tourism guidance describes October as still warm, with temperatures typically around 27–35°C. Offer water breaks, dress in breathable fabrics and use sun protection before evening entry. Follow the current forecast rather than treating a monthly average as the day’s weather.

Food and comfort planning
Check whether food stalls are confirmed, whether outside snacks or bottles are allowed and how allergens are communicated. If your child has dietary requirements, contact the organiser or caterer in advance. Carry necessary personal items and any medications your child needs, while following the venue’s bag policy.
Temple visits and community programmes
Temple worship and ticketed Garba nights have different environments and rules. For Abu Dhabi, BAPS Hindu Mandir publishes current campus hours and states that visitor registration is required; its normal darshan hours should not be mistaken for a special Navratri programme. Check temple announcements before planning a visit.

Family Navratri checklist
- Confirm date, venue and tickets on the organiser’s own page.
- Review age conditions, timings, transport, parking and refund rules.
- Set a family meeting point and keep an emergency contact handy.
- Wear comfortable clothing and suitable shoes; take breaks and hydrate.
- Leave if a child feels unwell or the venue becomes too crowded for them.
